Nice cozy spot right around the corner from Vaselka. Actually came here because didn't want to wait in line there haha. Glad I did, really enjoyed this place. Ordered the combo plate and you get a little bit of a few items and it's all delicious and filling. Also have beer from Lviv Ukraine too. I dig it and recommend it. I feel vaselka gets all the attention and it is better vibes there, but feels more homey and authentic here.

Came here with the family on a Friday night for dinner. The restaurant wasn't packed when we got there. There was a tango class to the side of the restaurant. We ordered a range of different dishes. Pretty impressed with the quality of the food. It tasted very home made. The chicken kiev and Wiener schnitzel were delicious. I ordered double size of mashed potatoes with my chicken kiev. The kids really enjoyed the kids spaghetti. It was nice, soft and garlicky. The place is sorta hidden so perhaps not many people know about it? Will definitely be coming back here!

Omgosh, you guys. This is a hidden gem. And, I do mean hidden. You need to walk into a very nondescript building and down some states to find this cute little spot. The food is just some of the best Eastern European fare you'll get in NYC. The service is stellar. This should be on everyone's must do list while in NYC! I've already recommended this spot to dozens of friends!

This place feels like the restaurants I'd visit in the City when I was a kid. While I don't know if the food is more authentic than the other Ukrainian restaurants nearby, the staff and the vibe definitely feel authentic here. The waitstaff is very friendly here. The dining room is not fancy or new. It has a feel of a different decade. That's not a good thing, because it feels very cozy and comfortable. And the food has the charm of food that has probably been made in a similar fashion for many years. I ordered the Chicken Kiev. It was the best Chicken Kiev I've had in NYC. The exterior was nice and crispy. The inside was buttery, but no weirdness that sometimes comes with Kiev. My wife ordered Beef Stroganoff. It tasted homemade, like a grandma made it. It wasn't over salted, like every other beef stroganoff I've had in NYC. This one stood out as my favorite so far within NYC. I'd order the Chicken Kiev again. My wife said she's looking forward to trying something different.
